Mission Statement
Our mission is to produce nutritious, good-tasting vegetables using sustainable and organic farming methods.  We pledge to involve our shareholders and customers in a way that brings them together as a community and gives them an understanding of farming and food production.

Farm Objectives
We plan to operate a farm based on the CSA model (see below) and to incorporate animals, pasturing and parties, and to take over the world.

What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and was coined by a farmer named Robyn Van En, a farmer in New England who was looking into a way for small farmers to successfully and sustainably re-enter the agriculture scene.  She and others realized it was no longer viable to sell grains and vegetables in a market that thought of food as just another commodity.  Many vegetables in the grocery stores come from only a handful of corporations and are sourced from all over the world.  So, as many documentarians and writers are asking nowadays:  Where is our food coming from?  What are we all eating?

Participating in a CSA farm means becoming a shareholder.  This means investing in seed and labor cost prior to the growing season.  The investment pays off in the form of a regular delivery (usually to pre-determined drop-off sites) of fresh vegetables, picked within only a few days.  The shareholder is also investing in this concept:  Change in our agricultural system and a real connection to our food is indeed possible.  CSA members know that being a part of a small farm means taking part in the natural risks involved in growing anything and may experience occasional crop failure balanced by times of bountiful harvest.
